Purpose Protein labeling, peptide labeling
Characteristics IRDye 680RD DBCO (dibenzocyclooctyne group) enables bioorthogonal chemistry to be performed without the need for heavy metal catalysts. IRDye 680RD DBCO provides the functionality for preferential labeling of molecules that contain azide groups (-N3) with IRDye 680RD. Within physiologically relevant temperature and pH ranges, the reactive group of the IRDye 680RD DBCO is inert toward naturally occurring nucleophiles such as amines and hydroxyls. Reaction of the DBCO group with the azide group is significantly faster than with the sulfhydryl group (-SH, thiol).
