IRDye 800CW is the dye of choice for proteintibody labeling applications and for nucleic acid applications requiring high labeling density. The NHS ester reactive group provides the functionality for labeling primary and secondary amino groups (e.g. lysine residues). IRDye 800CW has the highest water solubility and salt tolerance of the IRDye 800 series.
