Immunogen Native Protein IgE Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is a class of antibody that has been found only in mammals. IgE's main function is immunity to parasites such as parasitic worms. IgE also plays an essential role in the immediate hypersensitivity states, such as asthma, hay fever, atopic dermatitis, and other well-known manifestations of atopic patients. IgE is present in normal individuals at very low concentrations, only 0.05 % of the Ig concentration
The antibody is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against IgE conjugated to biotin.

Specificity It has been selected for its ability to recognize IgE in immunohistochemical staining and Western blotting.

Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

Storage Comment Store at 2-8 °C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 °C for 12 months.
