Purpose A vital stain
Characteristics 5-CFDA is a non-fluorescent, hydrophobic cell-permeable, vital stain. Once inside the cells, 5-CFDA is hydrolyzed by intracellular esterases to highly fluorescent 5-carboxyfluorescein (5-CF).
