Immunogen
Purified normal IgG, including all known subclasses, isolated from pooled rat serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Isotype
IgG
Specificity
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunit of the IgG molecule including all subclasses. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion, using various anti-serum concentrations against normal rat plasma and serum, a characteristic precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG.
Characteristics
Precipitating polyclonal goat antiserum to rat IgG, Fc specific Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled goat serum. Antibody titre: Precipitin titre not less than 1:16 when tested against normal rat serum in agar block titration.
Purification
Delipidated, heat inactivated lyophilized stable whole serum Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required to eliminate antibodies reacting with other components of the immunoglobulin system or reacting with other serum proteins. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of foreign protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.
