Immunogen Purified Fab of normal IgG isolated from pooled guinea pig serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Isotype IgG
Specificity The antiserum is reacting with the Fab subunits IgG, IgA, IgM and other Ig classes of both light chain type, with their Fab or F(ab')2 subunits and with free light chains of kappa and lambda type.
Characteristics Precipitating polyclonal goat antiserum to guinea pig Fab of IgG
Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled goat serum. Antibody titre: Precipitin titre not less than 1:64 when tested against normal guinea pig serum in agar block titration.
Purification Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized stable whole serum
Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required to eliminate antibody activity with other serum protein. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.

Application Notes In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and single and double radial immunodiffusion (Mancini, Ouchterlony) to identify and measure immunoglobulins, as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal guinea pig serum.

Handling Advice Working dilutions are prepared by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7. 2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4 °C, not refrozen, and preferably used t he same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the product.

Storage Comment The lyophilized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4 °C, prolonged storage at or below -24 °C.
