Background Human complement component 1, q subcomponent binding protein (C1QBP) is a ubiquitously expressed multifunctional phospho-protein that interacts with the globular heads of C1q (gC1q). This protein also interacts with a wide range of ligands and is implicated in cell signaling. Recombinant C1QBP was expressed in E. coli and purified by conventional chromatography techniques.
