Immunogen This antibody is produced by immunizing mouses with natural human IgG.

Isotype IgG2a
Characteristics Cellular Localization: Serum/ Plasma.
Background IgG is the most abundant immunoglobulin and is approximately equally distributed in blood and in tissue liquids, constituting 75 % of serum immunoglobulins in humans. There are 4 subclasses: IgG1 (66 %), IgG2 (23 %), IgG3 (7 %) and IgG4 (4 %). This is the only isotype that can pass through the human placenta, thereby providing protection to the fetus in its first weeks of life before its own immune system has developed. This antibody reacts with kappa-light-chain of human IgG.

Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Monoclonal antibodies should not be stored at a temperature below -25 °C due to the aggregation effect of the protein.
