Characteristics This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus. The protein has a calculated MW of 30.4 kDa. The protein migrates as 28-30 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE).
Purity >95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Sterility 0.22 μm filtered
Endotoxin Level Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method.
ProductDetails: Biological Activity Comment Biological Activity: Measured by its esterase activity. The specific activity is >1 pmol/min/μg.
Background Carbonic anhydrase 3 (CA3) is also known as Carbonate dehydratase III, Carbonic anhydrase III, which belongs to the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. These carbonic anhydrases are a class of metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide and are differentially expressed in a number of cell types. The catalytic activity of carbonic anhydrase 3 is activated by proton donors such as imidazole and the dipeptide histidylhistidine and is inhibited by coumarins and sulfonamide derivatives such as acetazolamide.
