Alternative Name CD263 / TRAILR3 (TNFRSF10C Antibody Abstract)
Background TRAIL-R3 (CD263, TR3, DcR1, LIT, TRID), expressed mainly on neutrophils, belongs to receptors of TRAIL, a TNF-like membrane cytotoxic protein that induces apoptosis in many tumour cells, but not in normal cells. TRAIL-R3, however, is a GPI-anchored protein that lacks cytoplasmic death domain, thus it is unable to induce apoptosis and serves as a negative regulator of apoptotic signaling by competing for binding of TRAIL with death receptor 5 (DR5).Synonyms: Antagonist decoy receptor for TRAIL/Apo-2L, DCR1, Decoy TRAIL receptor without death domain, Decoy receptor 1, LIT, Lymphocyte inhibitor of TRAIL, TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand receptor 3, TNFRSF10C, TRAIL receptor 3, TRAIL-R3, TRID, Trail receptor without an intracellular domain, Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 10C
