Alternative Name CD264 / TRAILR4 (TNFRSF10D Antibody Abstract)
Background TRAIL-R4 (CD264, TR4, DcR2, TRUNDD), expressed mainly on CD8+ and NK cells, belongs to receptors of TRAIL, a TNF-like membrane toxic protein that induces apoptosis in many tumour cells, but not in normal cells. TRAIL-R4, however, contains partially truncated death domain, thus it is unable to induce apoptosis and serves as a negative regulator of apoptotic signaling by impairment death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) processing. TRAIL-R4 interacts with death receptor 5 (DR5) in the native DISC in a TRAIL-dependent manner and prevents its corecruitment with death receptor 4 (DR4).Synonyms: DCR2, Decoy receptor 2, TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand receptor 4, TNFRSF10D, TRAIL receptor 4, TRAIL receptor with a truncated death domain, TRAIL-R4, TRUNDD, Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 10D
