Characteristics Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) is less than 0.5 μg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of ＞ 2000 IU/mg.

Background Relevance: The soluble form is chemotactic for T-cells and monocytes, but not for neutrophils. The membrane-bound form promotes adhesion of those leukocytes to endothelial cells.
