Immunogen Pools of purified normal IgG2 isolated from pooled guinea pig serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Isotype IgG
Specificity The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunit of subclass IgG2.
Characteristics Precipitating polyclonal goat antiserum to guinea pig IgG2, subclass specific
Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled normal goat serum. Antibody titre: Precipitin titre not less then 1:32 when tested against pooled normal guinea pig serum in agar block immun
Purification Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized whole antiserum.
Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required to eliminate antibodies cross-reacting with other components of the immunoglobulin system or reacting with other serum proteins. Special attention is given to the removal of antibodies to common Ig/Fab. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.

Application Notes In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG2 in guinea pig serum and other body fluids or to determine its concen-tration. Format Lyophilized
Reconstitution Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water.
Buffer No foreign proteins added.
Preservative Without preservative
Handling Advice Dilutions may be prepared by adding phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7. 2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the antiserum. Diluted antiserum should be stored at +4 °C, not refrozen, and preferabl y used the same day.

Storage Comment The lyophilized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4 °C, prolonged storage at or below -24 °C.
