Immunogen
Highly purified normal IgG isolated from pooled human serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Specificity
The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc part of the IgG molecule. In immuno-electrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal human serum a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG. No precipitation reaction is obtained with purified IgA, IgM, and IgG/Fab fragmentsPrecipitating polyclonal rabbit antiserum to human IgG, Fc specific
Characteristics
Total protein and IgG concentrations in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled normal rabbit serum. Antibody titre: Precipitin titre 1:128 when tested against pooled normal human serum in agar-block immuno-diffusion tit

Purification
Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole antiserum Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required, to eliminate antibodies cross-reacting with other components of the immunoglobulin system or reacting with other serum proteins. Special attention is given to the removal of antibodies to common Ig/Fab. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.
