Immunogen
Highly purified IgG, including all subclasses, and pools of homogenous IgA and IgM isolated from mouse serum. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.

Specificity
The defined antibody specificity is directed to the major isotypes of the mouse immunoglobulin system (classes, subclasses and L chain types) including antibody to common determinants, to class and subclass-specific determinants, and to the surface determinants of the common Fab portion as tested against as tested in immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony).
Characteristics
Purified IgG fraction of polyclonal goat antiserum to mouse immunoglobulins IgG, IgA, IgM, heavy and light chains, adsorbed for human cross-reactivity.
Purification
Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized Ig-depleted mouse serum as required, to eliminate antibodies reacting with other serum proteins. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum. This product has been passed over appropriate immunoadsorbent to remove antibodies cross-reacting with human immunoglobulins. This renders it specific for use in test systems containing material of human origin (e. g. human tissue/mouse monoclonal antibody to an human tissue constituent/anti mouse Ig isotype specific immunoconjugate). Hyperimmune antisera with strong precipitating activity are selected for fractionation by salt-precipitation and purification of the IgG (7S) fraction by DEAE-chromatography.
