Characteristics This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus. The protein has a calculated MW of 29.6 kDa. The protein migrates as 25-30 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE).
Purity >92 % as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Level Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method.
Background Chloride intracellular channel protein 4 (CLIC4) ,a member of the chloride channel CLIC family, is also known as intracellular chloride ion channel protein p64H1,which contains one GST C-terminal domain. CLIC4 can insert into membranes and form poorly selective ion channels that may also transport chloride ions. Channel activity depends on the pH . Membrane insertion seems to be redox-regulated and may occur only under oxydizing conditions. Also,CLIC4 can promote cell-surface expression of HRH3, endothelial cell proliferation and regulate endothelial morphogenesis. Furthermore ,CLIC4 has alternate cellular functions like a potential role in angiogenesis or in maintaining apical-basolateral membrane polarity during mitosis and cytokinesis.
