Specificity This antibody recognises CD147 (also known as basigin). OX114 recognises both isoforms of CD147, the common form containing 2 Ig-like domains and the rare form containing 3 Ig-like domains. Note that due to expression of CD147 by erythrocytes increased amounts of antibody may be required for staining of whole blood samples.

Background CD147 is a cell surface glycoprotein that is widely expressed on leucocytes, red cells, platelets and endothelial cells. The reported functions of CD147 are diverse and include involvement in T-cell activation, cell adhesion and induction of matrix metalloproteinases.Synonyms: 5F7, BSG, Basigin, Collagenase stimulatory factor, EMMPRIN, Extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer, Leukocyte activation antigen M6, OK blood group antigen, TCSF, Tumor cell-derived collagenase stimulatory factor

Application Notes Flow Cytometry: Use 10 μL of 1/5 diluted antibody to label 10^6 cells in 100 μL. The Fc region of monoclonal antibodies may bind non-specifically to cells expressing low affinity Fc receptors.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
